About horace Andy you are my angel Mixed By The Scientist

Horace Andy, born Horace Hinds in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1951, is one of reggae’s most distinctive and enduring voices. Known for his ethereal, tremolo-tinged vocals, Andy rose to prominence in the 1970s with a string of roots reggae hits that blended spiritual insight, romantic sensitivity, and social commentary.

Among his most beloved songs is “You Are My Angel”, a tender, melodic ballad that showcases Andy’s gift for expressing deep emotion with subtlety and soul. Released in the early 1970s, the track became a standout in his catalog and a timeless lovers rock anthem. Its haunting delivery and heartfelt lyrics—declaring undying affection and emotional devotion—cemented Andy’s reputation as a master of romantic reggae.

Produced at Studio One by Clement “Coxsone” Dodd, “You Are My Angel” carries the warm analog sound and laid-back groove typical of the golden era of Jamaican music. The song has since been reissued multiple times and remains a fan favorite, often cited as a highlight of Andy’s early work.

Horace Andy’s career continued to flourish well beyond his roots reggae days. He became widely known to a new audience through his collaborations with the British group Massive Attack, particularly on tracks like “Angel” (which borrows its title and haunting atmosphere from his earlier work) and “One Love.” Despite his international success, Andy has stayed true to the conscious and emotional core of reggae music.

“You Are My Angel” endures as a beautiful expression of love and vulnerability—testament to the timeless voice of Horace Andy.
