KEITH & TEX - Stop That Train MIXED BY THE SCIENTIST

About KEITH & TEX - Stop That Train MIXED BY THE SCIENTIST

Keith & Tex are a legendary Jamaican rocksteady duo composed of Keith Rowe and Phillip "Tex" Dixon. They rose to fame in the late 1960s, during the golden age of rocksteady music, with their soulful harmonies and distinctive sound. Their best-known hit, a cover of "Stop That Train" (originally by The Spanishtonians), became a classic of the era and remains a staple in reggae and rocksteady collections worldwide.

Under the production of Derrick Harriott, Keith & Tex crafted a number of enduring tracks, including "Tonight," "This Is My Song," and "Don't Look Back." Their smooth vocal interplay and heartfelt delivery captured the spirit of Jamaica’s vibrant music scene just before the emergence of reggae.

Although the duo separated in the early 1970s—with Keith moving to the United States and Tex pursuing other ventures—they reunited decades later, continuing to perform and record new music, delighting fans old and new. Their influence on rocksteady and early reggae endures, earning them a lasting place in Jamaica's musical legacy.
